The Qld Coast

AUSTRALIA'S Tropical North

Qld (Queensland) is an eastern Australian state sharing borders with NSW in the south and the NT and SA in the west.
The Qld coast  stretches for a massive 5000 km from the tourist mecca of the Gold Coast to wilderness areas of Cape York and the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Qld coast is probably best known for the iconic world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef.
This guide is designed for the environmentally conscious budget traveller to the Qld coast. Here you will find no references to upmarket beach resorts, 4WD beach access, big-game fishing safaris, exclusive beach-front tourist developments or wally-world theme parks. This guide attempts to highlight the natural assets of an unspoilt coastline, its sparkling tropical waters and breathtaking scenery. It is a guide to the clean and uncrowded beaches, estuaries, national parks, nature reserves and the many islands and coral cays.
